JCCS was one of my absolute favorite shows of 2015, so when my friend Evan called me and said he needed someone to drive his Datsun 210 down there, I was only too happy to oblige. The show this year was even better than last year, if that’s even possible. It was a really great day seeing a bunch of good friends and some awesome Japanese cars. I took so many pictures that this is going to be a 2 part post as to not kill Kinja. Without further ado, JCCS!
One of my favorites was this Mazda 323 GTX, brought out by Mazda corporate.
For those that don’t know, the 323 GTX was a turbocharged, 4WD 323. Pretty awesome, right?
Mazda also brought out this 1/1 FD RX7 Spirit R. What makes it 1/1?
The fact that it’s LHD!
Sage Auto Group was also out there with a selection of classic and not so classic Nissans, including 2 240Zs, a 280ZX, the above 300ZX Shiro, the second 350Z ever built and a GTR Nismo.
This particular Shiro is one of the finest examples in the world, without a single flaw that I could find.
Nismo goodness.
A couple cars down was this awesome Hako! My favorite part of this one was that the owner didn’t try to badge it as a GTR.
A buddy of mine brought out his stunning RX3. You may recognize this from Jay Leno’s channel.
What to do when you crash your Land Cruiser? Buy another RHD one and turn the old one into a trailer!
This 610 (AKA Bluebird) was shipped here from Nissan’s Zama Museum in Japan, but that wasn’t the real star...
No, that award goes to the R390 GT1. Such an amazing car, and this was (supposedly) this example’s first time on US soil.
Quite a line up of Datsuns in back. The 210 I drove down is just out of shot.
One of my favorite local 240Z builds was out too. My favorite part is the super widened LMGT1s.
The RB25 is pretty cool too.
Another red Hako was also out that day.
The L28 was very well cleaned up and sounded quite healthy.
A well build Civic is always great to see.
The best part of this classic Toyota was that I saw it leaving with the bed filled over the top with things from their booth! It was both totally mint, but also well used.
Another clean old Toyota. No biggie.
This was 1/84 examples built in LHD form.
Such a sexy little car.
Some Japanese Muscle in it’s top form. This Celica GT was on point.
Two other clean Z31s coming in. The Shiro in front was in great condition.
A widened AE86 pulling in behind.
My friends from International Vehicle Importers were out there with their own booth (Shout out to Sean, Ben and Taka!)
The Pao was one of my favorites out there. I’d love one as a daily driver at some point.
This is a car from 1989. 1989 and it has that interior. Thank you Nissan, for being willing to do something as ridiculous as this.
This Celica liftback was just too great. The liftback is my favorite body style, and the classic livery made it perfect.
This classic Civic was too nice to ignore.
Rally ‘Yota? Rally ‘Yota.
Another amazing Toyota from the “restored” category. Check out the seats.
4WD plus a manual transmission and little weight. Can it get any better?
And look at those gauges!!!
A classic 280ZX with a Kaminari kit was not what I expected to see, but pretty unique.
It was very entertaining to watch everyone walk around this pair and try to figure out what the hell they were.
(Classic Mitsubishi Lancers)
Sprinter! No, NOT an AE86 Sprinter.
One large turbo. Two doors. Four cylinders.
My buddy Arnel was out with his amazing Z32. It’s pretty much perfect, and chock full of rare parts. LMGT4s, 99 J Spec headlights and bumper, JUN auto hood, and plenty more.
This R31 was so good I couldn’t resist giving a little teaser. Don’t worry, there’ll be more later.
This plate cover was sweet. So period correct.
Sean Lee, founder of the Purist group, brought out his newly acquired, totally mint FC RX7 Turbo II.
Look at that. There’s clean, then there’s this.
The reason why it’s so clean? It only has 1300 miles!
Z600! This was perfectly modified.
This ZG has a rather special story behind it.
It used to belong to Mr K, the “father of the Z car”!!!
BRE for you and me
Honda had this Accord Coupe on display, with only 96 miles on the odometer.
*Sigh,* those were the days.
If I read the sign right, this actual car was the first Honda officially imported to the US.
There were tons of gorgeous CRXs at the show, but this one really stood out. I’m sure you can tell why...
Another beautiful CRX, this one with a K-Series swap.
SPOON!
Another fun piece of Datsun history, the 411.
A panel van! Neve seen one of these before.
From a time when 60HP was worthy of a badge...
There were plenty of modified 510s out, but one so stock stood out like a cat at a dog show, but not in a bad way.
This S30 stood out because of all the carbon parts it had, including headlights surrounds, a spoiler, and bumpers.
This left me exhausted.
A buddy was out with his flare’d, 1UZ swapped Celica.
Chase the sun across California.
Oh man, a Starlet! Wish these were easier to come across in this shape.
Last one in this post: The second Z33 ever made, complete with a prototype Stillen supercharger. That’s all for part 1, folks!

There’s a guy in Texas that just brought several of these over.
My first time seeing one was about 12 years ago, when a neighbor’s son apparently rented one in Canada and drove it into the states!

The “Yellow/Orange” car you have labeled as a Celica, is actually a Corolla lift back. I think it's a TE72.

Wow, amazing stuff. I’ve got to make it down for this one of these years. The red Hakosuka is just perfect . The FJ60 trailer looks like something HammerheadFistpunch should build for overlanding.

I think Hakosukas look way better with body-color flares than the typical black ones.

Speedhunters did a feature on this car about a month ago.
